Another week of NFL action is in the books. The Pittsburgh Steelers remain unbeaten and Deshaun Watson reminded us all that the 2020 New England Patriots defense is a far cry from their 2019 version.
Week 11 was relatively kind to fantasy managers regarding injuries, but we still have a few to address. Fantasy managers may need to add replacements off the waiver wire for the likes of Rex Burkhead, Greg Olsen, Joe Burrow, La’Mical Perine, Randall Cobb, JuJu Smith-Schuster and D’Andre Swift.
Week 12 is the first time since Week 4 that we do not have bye weeks, so fantasy rosters will be firing on all cylinders. But keep in mind that the bye weeks will return with a rare Week 13 bye featuring the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now, on to the top waiver-wire targets for Week 12. This list of players includes anyone rostered in approximately 50% of Yahoo leagues or less, with deep league options at every position as well. I’ll also share my thoughts on FAB (Free Agent Budget) bids and how much to spend on each player accordingly.
QUARTERBACKS
TAYSOM HILL, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS – 43% ROSTERED – 10% OF FAB
We knew going in that Taysom Hill was going to be the starter, but nobody could pinpoint exactly how well the TE-eligible quarterback (on ESPN) would perform in Week 11. Well, he put the haters to rest and delivered for all fantasy managers who had the faith to start him in their QB1 slot.
Hill completed 78% of his passes for 233 yards and was huge on the ground with 10 carries for 51 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Hill has the highly sought after “Konami code,” and that rushing ability puts him in the QB1 conversation ahead of next week versus the Denver Broncos.
The Saints’ quarterback scored more fantasy points (24.42) in Week 11 than Drew Brees scored in any game this season. Brees was placed on IR this past week, so Hill can be viewed as a starting fantasy option until further notice.
