The new football season is forging ahead, and Week 3 brings with it the tightest pricing yet as early-season superstars see needed bumps in price.
Below are some of the players I’m considering for my cash lineups in Week 3. Some things may change between now and Sunday (injury news later in the week is one of the most important things to pay attention to for DFS), but this should give you a good starting point when building cash lineups for this weekend.
The “Top Value” charts above show the top values based on projections and salary. However, not all of the players included in the charts should be considered cash game options. The charts are meant to show you — at a glance — which players have the most favorable salary-to-projection ratios, but when selecting players for your cash lineup, other factors need to be considered.
Quarterbacks
Week 3 cash QB strategy in one sentence: There are multiple viable cash-game quarterback options in the high-$5,000 or low-$6,000 range this week.

Sam Bradford | ARZ | CHI | $4,500 | 16.3 | 3.62 |
Cam Newton | CAR | CIN | $6,000 | 21.6 | 3.60 |
Alex Smith | WAS | GB | $5,800 | 20.6 | 3.55 |
Andrew Luck | IND | @PHI | $5,600 | 19.6 | 3.50 |
Ryan Fitzpatrick | TB | PIT | $6,000 | 20.9 | 3.48 |
Ben Roethlisberger | PIT | @TB | $6,300 | 21.3 | 3.38 |
Russell Wilson | SEA | DAL | $6,000 | 20.1 | 3.35 |
Carson Wentz | PHI | IND | $6,200 | 20.7 | 3.34 |
Deshaun Watson | HST | NYG | $6,100 | 20.3 | 3.33 |
Cam Newton catches my eye down at just $6,000. He was $6,900 in Week 1 and $6,600 in Week 2. That’s a big price drop for a player like Newton. The Panthers are three-point home favorites against the Bengals, who have given up over 300 passing yards in each of their first two games.
