Week 17 is wacky, which makes it perfect for DFS tournaments. Cheap value abounds. The expensive chalky guys have question marks. We’ll see more backups than we’ve seen since the preseason.

The result: You’ll probably end up with some contrarian-looking lineups in Week 17, but it’ll be chalkier than you expect.

Below are some possible strategies for you to employ for Week 17 FanDuel GPPs.

Quarterback

Quarterbacks I like in FanDuel tournaments this week:

I cover Winston and Brissett in the cash game guide.

The expensive quarterbacks — Wilson, Brady, Newton, and Rivers — are all still in playoff contention and/or fighting for seeding in Week 17. They should play full games.

Newton’s rushing has been fantastic for fantasy purposes in recent weeks. He has double-digit rushing attempts in three straight games, and he has at least 40 yards rushing and/or a touchdown in 10 straight games (and 12 of his past 13).

Garoppolo is quickly earning legend status, and he has a good chance to keep things rolling in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams, who will likely be playing a plethora of backups this week. Garoppolo has scored more FanDuel points in each successive game since taking over for the 49ers, and a 25-point outing is within striking distance.
