DFS guide: Week 16 in FanDuel tournaments

Week 16 is probably the second-weirdest week in DFS — just behind Week 17. Why? Because the injuries have piled up, some teams are ready to cruise into the playoffs while limiting their stars, or some combination of both.

The end result could very well be a tournament lineup with some odd names.

Below are some possible strategies for you to employ for Week 16 FanDuel GPPs.

Quarterback

Quarterbacks I like in FanDuel tournaments this week:

I cover Winston and Bortles in the cash game guide.

Wilson is pricey, but his ceiling and floor are both as high as anyone’s, and he Cowboys have given up multiple passing scores in six of their past seven games. Wilson has at least 24 FanDuel points in seven of his last nine games.

Box score hunters will see that Brady has thrown for fewer than 300 passing yards in four straight games with just two passing scores over his past three games. But the Patriots still have plenty to play for, and Brady’s GPP-winning ceiling is still fully intact.

I love Newton at $8,300 in GPPs in this matchup (against the Buccaneers). You typically aim for 3x value ceilings in FanDuel GPPs, which would be 24.9 points this week. Newton isn’t too far from averaging that many points (20.3). His true ceiling is more like 4.5x value on his salary this week.
