Welcome friends! We have made it to the Wild Card round of the playoffs and while I’ve nixed the cash game article, the DraftKings GPP Guide will continue throughout the playoffs. Whether you’re looking to continue to ride your hot hand into the postseason or just looking to keep playing fantasy football now that the regular season is over, there’s something here for everyone here. I’ll go over how I’ll be approaching tournaments on DraftKings and how you can utilize some of these plays to your advantage.
I’ll be mixing up the typical position-by-position format for these smaller, four-game slates. Instead, I’ll take a look at players projected to be the chalk at their positions, some stacks for you to utilize, contrarian darts that may go overlooked, and any potential onslaughts worth targeting.
Chalk plays
Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams ($9,700)
The chalk running back play of the week, Gurley has been a machine this year, posting fantasy points rushing, receiving, and scoring with the football. His price tag makes him an interesting “fade” discussion in tournaments, but Gurley is locked into a bell-cow role that offers significant touchdown equity. He’s averaged 38.5 DK points over his past four games, scoring eight touchdowns during that span. The matchup with Atlanta is rather neutral. While they’ve been rather stingy on the ground to opposing backs, they’ve been beaten mercilessly by receiving specialists. Gurley can do both for the Rams (he led all RBs with 788 receiving yards), as he’s rarely come off the field in 2017. He will likely be the most heavily owned player (regardless of position), but he also carries the highest floor and the highest ceiling of any player.
