Week 17 may be one of my favorite DFS weeks. It’s a week where staying on top of the news can provide a massive edge over our opponents and somewhat mirrors our process for how we approach preseason. While some teams have shipped it in already, others will be playing hard for a potential playoff berth. It’s paramount that we continue to absorb as much news as we can and adjust our player pools and exposures accordingly. With all 32 teams at our disposal, there’s a lot of room for our opponents to make mistakes and for us to capitalize. Here’s how I’m approaching GPPs this week.

Quarterback
Quarterback pricing this week leaves us with a ton of options on the table. I can make a case for nearly half the league, but I’ll keep my editor happy and just give a couple options worth considering.
Cam Newton’s ($6,800) 2017 fantasy season has been wildly unpredictable, but he draws a fairly good matchup this week in a game that could be a potential shootout. Atlanta has allowed the fifth-most passing completions and eighth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year. They’ve allowed multiple passing touchdowns to four of their last five opponents. Newton’s rushing ability has buoyed his fantasy success for much of the year, and with him coming off back-to-back 14-carry games, we can safely pencil him in for double digit carries against an Atlanta defense that has allowed the third-most rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks this year.
I mentioned Philip Rivers ($6,600) in my cash game guide and will be using him in tournaments as well, but a cheaper option that’s getting overlooked to me is Kirk Cousins ($6,200). After playing on the franchise tag in back-to-back years, it’s difficult to fathom the Redskins utilizing it a third time. Cousins will likely be playing for a new contract and should absolutely shine this week against a depleted secondary of the New York Giants. The Giants will be without Janoris Jenkins, Eli Apple, and Landon Collins. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is playing on just a part-time basis and his play isn’t really that worrisome with how well Jamison Crowder has been playing as of late. New York ranks sixth-worst in fantasy points per dropback and have allowed the most passing touchdowns on the season. Cousins and his wideouts make for great cheap stacks this week that still allows you to fit in some studs at other positions.
