Welcome to our weekly look at the slate of games for DraftKings tournaments, picking out the best fantasy plays for DFS.

Week 9 was an interesting slate of games. Carson Wentz was a big smash as a contrarian GPP play. Christian McCaffrey, Marvin Jones, and the pivot down from Zach Ertz to Trey Burton all proved profitable. It also showed to pay attention to the latest breaking news on Sunday, as the Ertz and Leonard Fournette news changed the slate quite a bit. Week 10 offers the potential for some great games, and subsequently, some great tournaments for us to pursue. You guys know the drill by now, let’s get right to it.

Quarterback

Paying down at the position in cash and paying up in tournaments is something I typically do to differentiate my lineups. Russell Wilson ($7,400) was the highest-priced quarterback for the TH-M slate, and the next-highest option on the main slate is Dak Prescott ($7,300). I’m not that eager to play Dak this week without Ezekiel Elliott, injuries to his receiving corps, and his history of playing as a road dog.

Instead, I’ll be going back to the well of paying for a quarterback who is drastically underpriced yet has scored the fifth-most DK points at the quarterback position this season. Tom Brady’s $6,700 price tag is the lowest of the season, and like Carson Wentz like week, DK’s algorithms may have given Denver’s defense a bit too much credit. The Broncos aren’t as invincible as we tend to believe, allowing three top-12 fantasy weeks to opposing quarterbacks so far this year. They’ve allowed five of their eight opponents to throw for multiple passing touchdowns against them. Brady has weapons at every position where he can avoid Denver’s shutdown corners. He’s shown he can beat opposing teams just by relentlessly targeting Rob Gronkowski and James White over the middle, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them both with big games this week.

Coming off the bye, I really like this spot for the entire Steelers team and plan on making several Pittsburgh onslaughts centered around Ben Roethlisberger ($6,600). Indianapolis is allowing the most passing yards, the highest yards per attempt, and the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing passers this season. Big Ben’s playmakers should have little difficulty making explosive plays against the defense that allows the most of them in the league. Ignoring last week’s outing against Tom Savage, the last five quarterbacks to play the Colts have averaged 22.4 DK points, providing a quality floor for Roethlisberger. There’s also a potential ceiling worth chasing here given that the game total has risen two points since opening and the fact that his noisy home/road splits may draw away ownership.
