We’re into Week 8 of the 2018 NFL season, and now it’s time to identify our top fantasy football bargains for DFS players this week.
Finding bargains and values in DFS is the key to any winning roster, both in cash games and tournaments. Our goal today is to find you the best bargains for your cash games and tournaments. We will specify what games to use each bargain in and how to capitalize on them in each given week.
High ownership is to be expected from some of these bargains, and we will touch in that in the writeup, so they should be used in cash games. However, some of these players are also excellent buys for tournaments and won’t have high ownership percentages. Generally speaking, quarterback is the one position where ownership tends to be spread out the most — in other words feel free using these bargains both in tournaments and cash games.
Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Price as a back-end QB1, Winston has a legitimate chance to put up the top-scoring week when you consider the combination of gamescript and matchup. The Buccaneers defense has only been able to figure out Baker Mayfield this season and entered the matchup against the Browns having allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks — Andy Dalton and crew should have no trouble moving the ball. Winston will be in catch-up mode against a Bengals pass defense that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
For some reason Goff is priced near the back end of the QB1 tier in a matchup against a Packers defense we last saw allow C.J. Beathard to rack up 10.7 yards per attempt. Goff is priced just below Winston and an excellent bet to have a high-touchdown upside at home in this matchup.
