Another wild week is in the books and we are back with our Week 5 fantasy football value and bargain plays for Sunday’s DFS main slate.

Just to be clear, when I say another wild week, it is not for artistic effect. As we head into Week 5, Austin Ekeler is currently the RB2 in PPR formats and the New England Patriots defense is the ninth-best fantasy player. Let’s try and make sense of all of this and go bargain shopping for Week 5.

Quarterback

Chase Daniel, Chicago Bears (@ Oakland)

FanDuel $6,500/DraftKings $4,800

This play is solely about cost and opportunity. Per PFF grades, the Raiders have the 29th-ranked pass coverage and the 26th-ranked pass-rush, and the Bears have enough weapons that Daniel could have a big day Sunday. On top of that, we graded his passing at 88.4 last week in relief.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings (@ NYG)

FanDuel $6,800/DraftKings $5,300

Cousins can’t be as bad as he’s been through four weeks, can he? Whatever you think of Cousins as a player, our Sam Monson wrote this week about how out of character 2019’s performance has been for the veteran QB. With a matchup against our 30th-graded pass-rush and coverage unit, this may be a great week to buy low and benefit from a return to the median.
