The structure of the NFL means there isn't really a perfect way to end the fantasy season. The most popular structure has Week 16 as the final week. It works, but in an already-short game schedule, you're chopping off one full week of the season just because it's complicated.
ESPN's solution is to have the playoffs structured as two-week affairs, with the semifinals in Weeks 14 and 15 and the finals in Weeks 16 and 17. But for any league that wants to have more than four playoff teams, that gets cumbersome and unwieldy.
And then there are the leagues that have Week 17 as their one-week finals. That's obviously elegant, but also has the complication of, you know, being Week 17, and all the inactive players that involves.
There isn't a perfect structure. Maybe it's impossible. But we'll keep trying. And in the meantime, the PFF Fantasy team is still putting out all the key strategies and advice that helped fantasy players get to those playoffs, and the key DFS advice for people who are out of it.
