It’s Bold Predictions Week on PFF Fantasy, featuring some of our writers offering up their biggest predictions for the fantasy football season. Mike Tagliere offered his bold calls Monday, and Brandon Marianne Lee followed up with hers Tuesday.

Now it’s my turn. I’m offering my scalable predictions. At each position, I’m offering my Bold, Bolder and Boldest calls for the season. Bold calls are the ones I believe in, ones I genuinely think are true, but not ones that are necessarily that out there. They get short defenses, because you'll see where I'm going quickly. Bolder calls are ones I believe in and will surprise people. Boldest calls are the places I’m planting my flag this year, the ones that, if I’m right, you’ll be clicking back on this in December. And at the end, my single boldest call of the year.

Running back

Bold: Ezekiel Elliott is the No. 1 running back in fantasy.

Do we need that much justification? Elliott is one of the best NFL running back prospects to enter the league in a while, he’s joining the best offensive line, his team will want to crush time of possession because of a bad defense, his quarterback is aging and probably shouldn’t offer a full slate of dropbacks. This team made a 1,000-yard rusher out of Darren McFadden; Elliott could offer a “2014 DeMarco Murray”-type season.
