Week 3 has arrived, and it's time to break down the five best and five worst wide receiver and cornerback matchups of the week. Fantasy football production is largely driven by matchups, which is exactly why we’re targeting the best matchups and avoiding the worst. With two weeks of play under our belts, we finally have legitimate numbers to help craft solid opinions.
Here are five wide receiver matchups to target and five to avoid in Week 3.
5 WR/CB Matchups to Target
Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis vs. Minnesota Vikings CB Jeff Gladney
Davis is off to a great start in 2020, and that is likely to continue into Week 3 with a tremendous matchup against Gladney ahead, in addition to the questionable status of teammate A.J. Brown, which would ensure a strong target share for Davis moving forward.
Through two weeks, Davis has totaled 11 receptions on 12 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Gladney is allowing 0.68 fantasy points per route, which is the second-highest mark among all cornerbacks on PFF’s WR and CB matchup chart. Gladney also ranks fourth-worst in yards allowed per reception (2.62), proving just how strong of a matchup this is for Davis.
Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd vs. Philadelphia Eagles CB Nickell Robey-Coleman
