5 WR/CB Matchups to Target

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith vs. New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore

We shouldn’t expect Smith to perform as well as he did in Week 10, but the first-round rookie appears to have hit the “next step” in his development. He has scored 22.6 fantasy points over his past two contests and looks like a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver.

The Saints field a great defense overall, but no cornerback has allowed more receiving yards than the 602 Lattimore has given up this season. He’s also been beaten for five touchdowns, while his 20.1 receiving yards per reception allowed is dead last among cornerbacks with 10-plus targets.

These numbers are good news for a receiver like Smith, who has been targeted 15.1 yards down the field on average and has three touchdowns in his past two games.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase vs. Las Vegas Raiders CB Brandon Facyson

Chase is the second rookie receiver to make this list, but he’s been on a tear the entire season. Right now, Chase is the WR4 in full-point PPR leagues and is Cincinnati’s clear-cut No.1 receiver. He’s hit double-digit fantasy points in all but one of his games this season, and that came last week.

This weekend, Chase will get the chance to produce a WR1 performance against Facyson, who has given up 0.38 fantasy points per route and 1.50 receiving yards per coverage snap, the third- and 12th-worst marks on PFF’s WR/CB Matchup Chart.
