• Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell is still available in way too many fantasy football leagues: How often is it that you’re able to find a consistent QB1 on waivers? Not often!
• Rookie WR Rashee Rice finds himself in a juicy matchup and an opportunity for an increased target share: An injury to Kansas City Chiefs starting receiver Justin Watson paired with a game against the Los Angeles Chargers could land Rice in WR2 territory for fantasy football in Week 7.
• Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel sits patiently on waivers: Samuel has scored as the overall WR27 so far in 2023 but remains available in over 50% of leagues. Once again, I ask, why the disrespect for these Commanders in fantasy football leagues?

Between the six teams enjoying the bye week and the revolving door of injuries, you may find yourself digging deeper than you’d like on the waiver wire in order to fill out your lineup. Here are five players to consider adding from the waiver wire heading if you’re in a pinch due to injury as a potential flex play heading into Week 7.
The six teams on a bye in Week 7 include the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans.
QB Sam Howell, Washington Commanders
Is listening to me clamoring to add Howell getting old yet? If so, just do yourself a favor and take the plunge because Howell enters Week 7 as the overall QB13 on the season, as he's finished as a top-12 quarterback in four of six games and a top-six quarterback in each of the past two weeks.
In Week 7, the Commanders will face the Giants, who are allowing the sixth-highest explosive pass rate in the league at 14.8% while having generated the fifth-fewest pressures. Seven of Howell’s nine total passing touchdowns this season have come from a clean pocket, completing 71.8% of passes and averaging 7.4 yards on such attempts.
