Over a dozen NFL agencies representing 155 draft prospects are planning to announce a formal boycott of the 2022 NFL Combine due to the league’s intention to have a bubble environment, a source confirmed to PFF.

The NFL on Saturday sent a memo regarding restrictions that will apply to this year’s Combine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan is to create a bubble environment for all draft prospects, which will strictly limit the ability of players to interact with others. “Players who violate this policy at any time will be disqualified from further participation and sent home,” the memo stated.
Under the current plan, players may only have one medical support person accompany them to Indianapolis, rather than the full team of coaches and trainers they normally would.
“The NFL can’t just decide when to have restrictions and when not to,” one prominent agent told PFF. “It’s great to see several agencies put their differences to the side and come together on this.”
The NFLPA sent a memo to agents on Sunday in support of a potential boycott. The union took issue with both the bubble and the current system of each team medically evaluating prospects.
This year’s combine is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 1.
