Marshon Lattimore could help solidify Titans secondary

With only three cornerbacks that saw significant playing time in 2016 on their roster, the Tennessee Titans shouldn’t hesitate to draft Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore with their No. 5 pick.

Rated as PFF’s top cornerback for this year’s class, Lattimore would be an immediate upgrade for a Titans defense that allowed seven starting quarterbacks to record a passer rating of 98.8 or better against them in 2016.
In 41 targets against him last season, Lattimore surrendered 18 catches and recorded four interceptions and six pass breakups.
Quarterbacks targeting Lattimore registered an NFL passer rating of 30.2 last year. He allowed a passer rating of 2.8 when defending slant routes thrown into his coverage.
Lattimore gave up 0.74 receiving yards per coverage snap. In addition, he didn’t miss any of the 37 tackles he attempted in 2016.
