With only three cornerbacks that saw significant playing time in 2016 on their roster, the Tennessee Titans shouldn’t hesitate to draft Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore with their No. 5 pick.
- Rated as PFF’s top cornerback for this year’s class, Lattimore would be an immediate upgrade for a Titans defense that allowed seven starting quarterbacks to record a passer rating of 98.8 or better against them in 2016.
- In 41 targets against him last season, Lattimore surrendered 18 catches and recorded four interceptions and six pass breakups.
- Quarterbacks targeting Lattimore registered an NFL passer rating of 30.2 last year. He allowed a passer rating of 2.8 when defending slant routes thrown into his coverage.
- Lattimore gave up 0.74 receiving yards per coverage snap. In addition, he didn’t miss any of the 37 tackles he attempted in 2016.
