- The 2017 season has already showcased the good and bad qualities of UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen’s game, and his effort against Memphis was just another example of his inconsistency. There was plenty to like as he showed good accuracy when throwing into tight windows up the seams, but the poor plays overshadowed the good ones in the loss to Memphis.
- Last season, Rosen had the 21st-highest percentage of turnover-worthy plays out of 124 qualifiers and he had two disastrous interceptions against to go with three other poor passes that should have been picked.
- Whether it’s throwing ill-advised passes back across his body, firing “YOLO” balls into tight coverage, or simply drifting and playing poorly in the pocket (he’s been charged with three sacks in three games), Rosen has too many negative plays that he must cut out before moving to the next level.
