The Pittsburgh Steelers take PFF’s CB4 and 21st-ranked prospect to open up Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Porter wins with his length. The former Nittany Lion’s 34-inch arms make it easy to disrupt his opponent at the catch point and line of scrimmage. Porter’s 40% forced incompletion rate in 2022 led all Power Five cornerbacks.

Strengths, weaknesses and NFL role
Where he wins: Getting a Jam
Porter is one of the most consistent college cornerbacks you'll see at establishing leverage on wide receivers at the line. His ability to get and maintain contact with receivers will play in the NFL.
What's his role? Press CB
This should come as no surprise given the above paragraph. Porter allowed 68 yards on 106 snaps in press coverage all season. That's not to say he has to be in press to be effective, but you'd be doing him a disservice consistently playing him in off-coverage.
What he can improve: Needless grabbing
Porter was lucky to be flagged only three times this past season, as that certainly won't be the case with his play style at the next level. He needs to reel in his tendency to yank jerseys to stick with receivers out of breaks.
