2018 Prospect Preview: Will Hernandez is elite among that nation's guards

  • UTEP G Will Hernandez enters the 2017 college season as a Day 2 projection for the 2018 NFL draft, and is among the top three guards on PFF's big board.
  • Hernandez was the highest graded guard of the 2016 college season, achieving a PFF overall grade of 94.3. He also graded as “elite” in pass blocking (91.3) and run blocking (91.4).
  • Hernandez played 380 pass-blocking snaps in 2016, and allowed just one pressure all season. His pass-blocking efficiency (the PFF metric that measure pressure on a per snap basis with weighting towards sacks) of 99.8 ranked No. 1 of 287 guards with at least 175 pass-blocking snaps.
  • Hernandez has also proven to be stellar in the run game, and both his run blocking grade of 91.4 and his run block success percentage of 94.5 percent ranked No. 1 of all guards in the nation in 2016.
