- Oklahoma State WR James Washington enters the 2017 college football season as a PFF Day 2 projection and based on his 2016 performance he is arguably the top deep receiving threat in next year’s draft.
- In 2016, Washington showed that he is a perennial deep threat as he leads the crop of returning draft-eligible wide receivers in deep receiving yards (690), yards per reception (18.8) and ranked No. 3 in receptions on passes that traveled 20 or more yards in the air with 15.
- Washington also showed prowess getting off of press coverage as his 362 yards gained when targeted against press ranked No. 4 in the nation last season.
- His production almost exclusively came when playing outside in 2016. His seven slot receptions ranked him just 82nd out of returning draft-eligible wide receivers and his 50 yards from the slot ranked 108th.
