  • Kansas junior interior defender Daniel Wise was one of the standout defenders on a surprisingly good defensive line for the Jayhawks last season. His strong performances in the pass game has made many analysts take notice of the defender, earning him a Day 3 PFF draft projection.
  • Wise had 29 total pressures last season which led all draft-eligible defensive tackles in the Big 12. His pass-rush productivity (PRP) of 8.0 ranks No. 21 in this year’s draft class and was No. 2 in the Big 12 (PRP measures pressure created on a per snap basis with weighting towards sacks).
  • He was especially effective rushing the passer on third down, notching a PRP of 16.1, or No. 6 by an interior defender in this year’s draft class.
  • To climb up teams draft boards next season, Wise will need to prove he is capable of stopping the run. Wise ranks No. 76 in this year’s class with a run stop percentage of only 6.4 in 2016.
