- A former consensus five-star recruit, Florida State LB Matthew Thomas hasn’t played a down without the national spotlight at his back, keeping him from outperforming such high expectations. However, Thomas quietly put together a productive junior campaign in 2016 within a limited role, finishing T-No. 1 in run stop percentage (11.9) among retuning ACC inside linebackers.
- Thomas totaled 12 run stops on 101 run snaps, the most of any returning ACC inside linebacker with less than 120 run snaps last season.
- Adding to his success, Thomas also ranked No. 2 among returning ACC inside linebackers with at least 10 pass-rush snaps in pass-rush productivity, recording seven quarterback hits and five hurries.
