  • Clemson WR Deon Cain flashed his ability as a big-play threat last season, using his long stride and strong hands to create separation which has earned him a Day 2 PFF draft projection. Cain will have to prove himself as more than just a deep threat if he wants to be a go-to guy at the next level.
  • Cain proved his ability as a deep threat receiver last season with eight touchdown receptions on passes targeted 20 or more yards downfield tied for No. 1 in the draft class. His 14 receptions and 423 yards on deep passes ranks first among returning ACC wide receivers.
  • His 2.78 yards per route run – which measures productivity on a per route basis by dividing total yards by total snaps in route – ranked No. 2 among draft eligible ACC receivers.
  • Catching the ball wasn’t one of Cain’s strong points last year as his drop rate of 13.6 percent ranks No. 133 in the draft class. Cain dropped four of the 44 catchable passes thrown his way last season.
