- Alabama WR Calvin Ridley, widely known for his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands, surprised some with his ability to pave the way for his teammates in the backfield. His 71.4 run block grade ranked No. 2 among SEC wide receivers with at least 600 offensive snaps last season.
- As such, Ridley’s run blocking technique improved significantly in comparison to his freshman campaign, as his 2016 run block grade was 12.4 grade points higher than his grade in 2015.
- In addition to his run blocking success, Ridley torched defenses with his ability to stretch the field. He brought in nine deep (20-plus yards) passes for 328 yards last season, ranking No. 18 and No. 22 in the draft class, respectively.
