- After a tumultuous 2015 season, Eastern Michigan recorded seven wins and made their first bowl appearance in almost 30 years during the 2016 campaign led by now-redshirt senior QB Brogan Roback.
- In his second year as the Eagles' primary starter, Roback posted an overall grade of 88.0 which is No. 3 among returning FBS quarterbacks and tops among MAC signal callers.
- One thing Roback did extremely well in 2016 was avoiding sacks when pressured. On the 129 dropbacks where he faced pressure, Roback was sacked on just 7.8 percent of them. That figure is also tops among returning MAC quarterbacks and ranks No. 2 among all quarterbacks who are 2018 draft-eligible.
- No MAC quarterback was impacted more by drops than Roback this past season. He threw 407 yards in the air that were lost when accounting for the 26 drops by his supporting cast.
