Locking in college bets early in the week is always the best move, but that’s not to say all the value has been squeezed into oblivion come Saturday morning. There is plenty of opportunities out there to take advantage of in the hours leading up to the Week 3 kickoff, and I’m here to help the public find it.

Below are some of my favorites spread picks that I feel are still worth jumping on for Saturday’s slate.

SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS AT HAWAI’I RAINBOW WARRIORS
Sunday, Sep. 19 | 12:30 AM EST | FS1
The Pick: San Jose State -6.5
Even though this game may technically kick off Sunday morning if you live in the eastern time zone, for all intents and purposes, it's a late-night Saturday matchup.
A trip across the pond and a blowout loss to USC — who subsequently got beaten handily by Stanford — are the two big driving forces behind San Jose State being only 6.5-point favorites against an underwhelming Hawai’i team. The Rainbow Warriors enter this contest 0-3 against the spread in 2021 with the 118th-ranked coverage unit in terms of PFF grade. San Jose State’s pass offense is led by quarterback Nick Starkel, and it is clicking early, ranking second in the FBS in explosive pass play rate. The Spartans' defense will be facing a run-and-gun Hawai’i offense that is centered around the pass. While the Spartans have caught some bad breaks in coverage, they have graded out well through two weeks, ranking 22nd in the FBS in unit coverage grade. Right under the key number seven is great value here for San Jose State.
