AP TOP 25 SCHEDULE
NEBRASKA (16) at NO. 3 OKLAHOMA (23)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | FOX
Spread: Oklahoma -22.5 (NEBRASKA COVERED | Total: 62 (UNDER HIT)
This closer-than-expected outing was Spencer Rattler's lowest-graded game of his career upon first review. He had multiple turnover-worthy plays that the Nebraska defense couldn't take advantage of, helping Oklahoma's chances at avoiding an upset. On the other side of the field, Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez had himself one of the best performances of his career. He led the Cornhuskers to 0.67 EPA per pass, the highest of any other game of his leading the offense.
It was an uninspiring victory for the Sooners, who were thought to be one of two teams that could challenge Alabama for the National Title. After their close call against Tulane in Week 1 and this middling performance, Oklahoma's hopes of dethroning the Crimson Tide are dwindling.

NEW MEXICO (0) at NO. 7 TEXAS A&M (34)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | SEC Network
Spread: Texas A&M -29.5 (TEXAS A&M COVERED) | Total: 50 (UNDER HIT)
Texas A&M needed to see quality play from quarterback Zach Calzada against a lackluster New Mexico defense, and the sophomore came through. Calzada earned a passing grade in this one that was over 15 points above his 59.9 mark from last week upon first review.

8 CINCINNATI (38) at INDIANA (24)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | ESPN
Spread: Cincinnati -3.5 (CINCINNATI COVERED) | Total: 49.5 (OVER HIT)
The Hoosiers entered the fourth quarter up one point, but they let the Bearcats claw their way to a 14-point victory. Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder left a lot to be desired after showing signs of growth the first two games of 2021. Indiana was getting pressure on him with creepers and five-man rushes, and it rattled Ridder early on. He struggled to hit downfield shots, completing only six of 18 throws of 10-plus yards. At the end of the day, UC got the job done and kept their small chances of making the College Football Playoff alive.
Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr.'s woes continued in Bloomington this week. While his receiving unit dropped a few passes, Penix was wildly inaccurate. A quarter of his pass attempts were deemed a quarterback-fault incompletion, and tallied three turnover-worthy plays on the day.

15 VIRGINIA TECH (21) at WEST VIRGINIA (27)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | FS1
Spread: West Virginia -2.5 (West Virginia COVERED) | Total: 50.5 (UNDER HITS)
West Virginia running back Leddie Brown busted off an 80-yard touchdown run to open up the game, and the Mountaineers held onto the lead the rest of the way. Virginia Tech found themselves down three scores entering the first half with their offense overall being the key reason why. The Hokies produced a successful offensive play on just 34.2% of their first half opportunities.

16 COASTAL CAROLINA (28) at BUFFALO (25)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | ESPN2
Spread: Coastal Carolina -14 (BUFFALO COVERED) | Total: 57.5 (UNDER HIT)
Coastal Carolina had a tough time stopping Buffalo's run game, surrendering 0.34 EPA per rush on the day. For reference, that's the worst they've allowed in a single game since 2020. Still, the Chants offense created enough explosive plays to get the job done. This was Coastal's third-most efficient single-game offense since 2020.

MICHIGAN STATE (38) at NO. 24 MIAMI (FL.) (17)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | ABC
Spread: Miami (FL.) -6.5 (MICHIGAN STATE COVERED) | Total: 56.5 (UNDER HIT)
Michigan State put the pedal to the metal in the fourth quarter. They led Miami by three entering the fourth and proceeded to outscore them 21-3 in the final quarter of play to win outright as underdogs. Spartans running back Kenneth Walker III had himself a field day, breaking 16 tackles and producing seven runs of 10-plus yards on 27 attempts. This was Miami's second-worst defensive showing since the 2016 season in terms of EPA per play allowed (0.3).

NORTHERN ILLINOIS (10) at NO. 25 MICHIGAN (63)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 12:00 PM EST | Big Ten Network
Spread: Michigan -27.5 (MICHIGAN COVERED) | Total: 54 (OVER HIT)
Michigan won comfortably for the third straight week, and their rushing attack once again stole the show. The Wolverines produced 11 runs of 10-plus yards on 49 carries en route to 0.41 EPA per rush. The program now has over 1,000 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns as a group through three games. Quarterback Cade McNamara remains an unknown as attempted just nine passes in the 53-point victory. He will be the ultimate deciding factor in Michigan's fate this year, but it's clear their run game and defense is right where they need to be.

PURDUE (13) AT NO. 12 NOTRE DAME (27)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 2:30 PM EST | NBC
Spread: Notre Dame -7 (NOTRE DAME COVERED) | Total: 58 (UNDER HIT)
Notre Dame's defense rose to the occasion today and limited Purdue to -0.16 EPA per play and only four explosive pass plays on 61 dropbacks. The Irish passing offense couldn't get anything cooking. Quarterback Jack Coan struggled to deliver accurate passes and when he did, the receiving unit didn't do their part. Five of Coan's 15 passes over 10 yards downfield were deemed a quarterback-fault incompletion, and the receiving room totaled up six drops on the day.

1 ALABAMA (31) at NO. 11 FLORIDA (29)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 3:30 PM EST | CBS
Spread: Alabama -14 (FLORIDA COVERED | Total: 60.5 (UNDER HIT)
This looked like it had all the makings of a classic Bama blowout after the Crimson Tide got out to a 21-3 lead in the first quarter, but Florida wasn't going to go down without a fight. The Gators went from -0.18 EPA per play in the first quarter to +0.22 in the last three. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide went from +0.83 EPA per play in the first quarter to +0.1 in the last three. Despite Alabama still coming out on top, this outing against Florida showed that they can slip up like anyone else.

Saturday, Sep. 18 | 3:30 PM EST | BTN
Spread: Iowa -23 (PUSH) | Total: 55.5 (UNDER HIT)

GEORGIA TECH (8) at NO. 6 CLEMSON (14)
Saturday, Sep. 18 | 3:30 PM EST | ABC
Spread: Clemson -28 (GEORGIA TECH COVERED) | Total: 52 (UNDER HIT)
It was a sluggish day for Clemson that ended in a six-point win over a Georgia Tech team that entered the game 81st in the FBS in PFF's Power Rankings. Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei's struggles continued, leading the Tigers to their second-lest efficient offense in a single game since 2018.

Saturday, Sep. 18 | 3:30 PM EST | FS1
Spread: Ohio State -24.5(TULANE COVERED) | Total: 60.5 (OVER HIT)
Ohio State was dangerously close with Tulsa for a large part of this game, but pulled away with a 21-point victory in the end. Buckeyes starting quarterback CJ Stroud once again had accuracy issues and led the team to their third-least efficient passing offense in a game since 2018. The Ohio State backfield took care of business though, averaging 8.6 yards per carry and generating +0.29 EPA per rush.

Arkansas finally showed some life in the passing game. After generating -0.2 EPA per pass the first two weeks, quarterback KJ Jefferson led the Razorbacks to +0.52 EPA per pass in Week 3. It came against Georgia Southern, so take that with a grain of salt, but it is progress!
