If it is your first season betting on college football, I would like to introduce you to MACtion. It is essentially the football version of March Madness, but it is every single week. Chaos, explosive plays and surprise trickery all occurring on a school night. It can be difficult to navigate these waters if you’re going in with little or no information. Lucky for you, PFF has a treasure trove of stats and information to help you survive the chaos.
My projections are the driving force behind the picks in this article. In addition to the projections here, I highly suggest checking out PFF’s Greenline tool. The rankings, projections and cover probabilities all give you an expert level advantage to your college football betting strategies.

Central Michigan Chippewas VS. Ball State Cardinals (-3)
Pick: Central Michigan +3
Projection: Ball State -1.3
Central Michigan is starting to gain some momentum as they try to catch Northern Illinois in the MAC West Division. In their past two games, the Chippewas have posted overall grades of 85.0 and 86.5 in wins against Western Michigan and Kent State, respectively. This has boosted their overall grade to 38th in the nation in overall PFF grade (86.3). This week, they have drawn the Ball State Cardinals, who are coming off a narrow loss to Northern Illinois.
Chippewas quarterback Daniel Richardson is finally starting to find his rhythm. In the last two weeks, he has graded out at 89.2, which is good for 17th in the nation in that span. On the season, Richardson is 10th in the nation in big-time throws with 23, and he gets to go up against a Cardinals team that ranks 97th in coverage grade at 60.9. My model likes Central Michigan to keep this close. They have a good shot at winning outright if Richardson can continue to play efficient football.
