Chiefs add Roy Miller

  • The Kansas City Chiefs signed former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Roy Miller on Wednesday.
  • After an offseason that saw the Chiefs lose veterans Jaye Howard and Dontari Poe, adding Miller improves interior depth, especially at nose tackle (83 of his 156 snaps a season ago were at NT).
  • For all of his experience (3,894 career snaps), Miller has been fairly one dimensional throughout his career.  His 3.6 Pass Rush Productivity over the course of his career is worse than every Chief defensive lineman last season that had more than 75 pass rushing snaps.
  • However, his 11.4 Run Stop Percentage (in just 79 run defense snaps) last season was a career high, and his 8.0 mark over the last three seasons would have been the second best mark on the Chiefs defensive line in 2016.
