Week 8 NFL odds are live, and the best time to bet them is now — before the lines move. Last week, two of our three teaser legs were winners (the Baltimore Ravens shot down a perfect 3-0, meaning our early teasers went 1-2), the Las Vegas Raiders covered the early week spread and the Chicago Bears came nowhere close despite getting closing line value. We have the New Orleans Saints (-3) on Monday Night Football, and our pick of the week hit once again. We now stand at 5-2 on the season for those selections (you can hear it each week on the Wednesday evening PFF Forecast podcast).

We’ve been able to identify games where betting early in the week provides closing line value (the line we bet in this article is better than the closing line with respect to the side we bet). On average, we’ve seen 0.5 points of closing line value per pick. In the long run, this is the best predictor of profitable betting.

Week 8 Best Early NFL Bets

Both of these tease through the key numbers of 3 and 7, and while Carolina is a tough side to back, the Falcons showed last week against the Dolphins that their games will perpetually be within one score. The Bengals might be in a letdown spot against the Jets, but they should be able to win by a field goal or more.
