The Big 12 had an offseason for the ages, headlined by the news that Oklahoma and Texas will soon be departing the conference and joining the SEC. Yet, for now, the conference continues to be dominated by the Sooners, who are 4-0 in Big 12 championship games over the last four seasons.
Their expected opponent is the same team they faced in last year’s Big 12 championship game — Matt Campbell’s Iowa State. Meanwhile, the middle tier of the conference has three teams with win totals of 7.5 and four more teams separated within 2.5 games of that win total. Bottomfeeder Kansas has a sad win total of only 1.5 games.
Can new coach Lance Leipold carry over the success he enjoyed at Wisconsin-Whitewater and Buffalo and find a win or two somewhere on the schedule? Besides penciling in Oklahoma at the top and Kansas at the bottom of the standings, all the teams between could finish in any possible order. Enjoy the Big 12 conference for what it is before the Sooners and Longhorns bow out.
As always, shop around for the best number — It could be the difference between losing or pushing and getting your money back!
