Notes

  • Washington have plenty of talent on offense, and they have several capable targets for whoever starts the season at quarterback. DeSean Jackson may not have had the best season in his first year in Washington in 2014, but he is still a big play threat, leading the league with 600 yards on passes travelling 20 yards or more through the air last season. Pierre Garcon is a more than capable number two receiver, while tight end Jordan Reed was third at the tight end position, with 1.89 Yards Per Route Run.

  • The big question remains at quarterback. We all saw how talented Robert Griffin III was in his rookie season, with the former Baylor signal caller impressing everyone, both with his arm and his legs. Since then however, things have gone south. Since his knee injury at the end of his rookie season Griffin has been a shell of that player and hasn't looked like re-discovering that form. Can he get back to the level we saw during his rookie season in 2015?

  • They added talented players across that defensive line this offseason and, while we'd have Jason Hatcher as a starter, which he isn't currently slated to be, there's no denying that they got better there. Terrance Knighton is stout against the run, and was our 12th highest graded defensive tackle in 2014. One spot above him was fellow new signing Stephen Paea, with his 47 total pressures helping him to the fourth highest pass rushing grade at the position.

  • Losing Brian Orakpo definitely isn't a good thing, but they obviously have confidence that Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Murphy will be a good enough duo. Murphy was solid as a rookie, finishing the season as our 25th highest graded 3-4 outside linebacker. The only concern there being that his positive grade came as a result of his work against the run, with some work needed to his play as a pass rusher.
