- Signing Julius Thomas was a good piece of business by the Jaguars, and he immediately becomes quarterback Blake Bortles best receiver. How they use him will be crucial, with Thomas doing some of his best work out of the slot, where he lead all tight ends with 2.31 Yards Per Route Run in 2013. A one dimensional tight end, who doesn't offer much as a blocker, his skill set should help a Jaguars offense crying out for playmakers.
- Where they need someone to step up and help Thomas and Bortles is at wide receiver. Allen Robinson, Marquise Lee and Allen Hurns are the current starters at the top three spots, with all three finishing 2014 with a negative grade as a receiver. They drafted two receivers in Rashad Greene and Neal Sterling, but the simple fact of the matter is that someone needs to step up and make themselves a top target for Bortles in 2015.
- Losing first round draft pick Dante Fowler for the season hurts the defensive line but the addition of Jared Odrick brings a welcome blend of versatility and quality. A big body at defensive end at 304 pounds, Odrick graded positively as a pass rusher, and against the run in 2014. One name to keep an eye on here is Ryan Davis. A sub package player in 2014, Davis played just 310 snaps, but graded positively against the run and registered an impressive eight sacks, five hits, and 13 hurries.
- There are question marks at cornerback where Demetrius McCray and Davon House are an unproven starting duo and they don't have much else at the position. Dwayne Gratz had a grade of -12.2 in coverage last year, while we haven't seen enough of Aaron Colvin, Tommie Campbell or Jeremy Harris.
