Notes

  • At wide receiver they aren't too concerned with what they have at the top of the pile, with both Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders impressive targets for Peyton Manning in 2014. Where there should be some concern, though, is beyond those two. Cody Latimer will be expected to have a big role in his second season, but the second round draft pick saw just 37 snaps as a rookie so we don't have much to go on there. Outside of that there isn't too much to get excited about at the position, unless someone unknown can step up and surprise us.
  • Running back is a position with a lot of depth, and the surprise package of C.J. Anderson in 2014 gives them a strong starter to boost the position ever further. Despite not starting until Week 11, Anderson still finished 2014 as our third-highest graded runner at the position, averaging 4.7 yards per carry, and 2.5 yards after contact per carry.
  • The Broncos are likely to be a primarily 3-4 defense in 2015 which makes for a couple of interesting changes. In the past Malik Jackson has played 4-3 defensive end in their base defense, before kicking inside on obvious passing situations, while Von Miller has played linebacker in base and put his hands in the ground in sub-packages. That will still likely be true for both in sub-packages, but Miller seems perfectly suited to the role of 3-4 outside linebacker, which will take full advantage of his skills as a pass rusher.
  • The Broncos have one of the stronger secondaries in the league, with all five key players good enough to be considered no worse than average. They are headlined by the talented Chris Harris Jr., who was our highest-graded cornerback in coverage in 2014. Even more impressive is that he did this coming off a serious knee injury, leaving us to wonder just how good he'll be in 2015.
