- Given how much they struggled in 2013, it's impressive just how much of a strength the Ravens offensive line has become. Getting to grips with the scheme, Marshal Yanda bounced back from a disappointing 2013 season, to have the best season of his career this past year. The big surprise was right tackle Ricky Wagner, who finished the year as our third highest graded right tackle, surrendering just three quarterback knockdowns (hits and sacks) all year.
- The Ravens certainly can't be guilty of not giving Joe Flacco plenty of weapons in the passing game this offseason, replacing Torrey Smith with a similar style of player in rookie first rounder Breshad Perriman. Lightning fast, but with sometimes questionable hands, he compares very similarly to Smith heading into his first season in the league. They also added Darren Waller later in the draft, while the move to draft Maxx Williams in the second round of the draft suggests that there may be some concerns about Dennis Pitta's future.
- Unable to sign him to a contract extension, the Ravens opted to trade Haloti Ngata to the Detroit Lions on the first day of free agency. That move opens up a big opportunity for Timmy Jernigan, who really stood out in limited work at defensive end last season. If he can produce on a similar level as a starter, he'll mitigate the loss of Ngata for the Ravens defense.
- The most interesting move coming out of OTAs is that Will Hill now appears to be the team's starting strong safety. Hill impressed for the Ravens in the second half of 2014, and moving him there allows Kendrick Lewis to start at free safety. That's not good news for former first round draft pick Matt Elam, who has struggled in his career thus far, but particularly when playing deep. Heading into his third season, Elam faces a battle to keep his spot on the roster at this point.
