We’re partway through ranking the NFL teams in terms of what they offer fantasy football players, and it’s time to continue the countdown with teams Nos. 24-21. These rankings are based on our own 2016 player projections. The series assumes a 12-team PPR league with a starting lineup of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end and one flex position. Kickers and D/STs are not accounted for.
Here are today’s four teams: (click to enlarge)
No. 24: Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have a smattering of decent fantasy options, but the loss of a true lead back hurts them from a fantasy perspective. Miami ranks No. 24 on the 2016 fantasy power rankings. They ranked 10th last season and 20th in 2014.
The Dolphins offer fantasy owners 21 percent less value than the average NFL team. They rank 22nd at the quarterback position, 20th at tight end and 14th at wide receiver. And despite having Jay Ajayi and Arian Foster, the Dolphins only have the 28th-best fantasy backfield.
Ryan Tannehill is the “breakout player of the year” candidate that continues to not break out. He’s a good target if you wait on a quarterback until the final rounds of the draft, but other than that, Tannehill is just a fantasy backup.
