Building a fantasy roster out of bold predictions

It’s Bold Predictions Week here at PFF Fantasy in case you haven’t noticed, and now it’s my turn to join in on the fun. In the early rounds of your draft, it may be wise to draft players with a high floor, but as you get into the middle and late rounds, you should be targeting high-upside players.

The goal is to grab a few league-winning type picks, and I’m here to divulge a few of my favorite of these today. Instead of running down a bold prediction in each division, I decided to create a starting lineup consisting of my boldest calls. For simplicity, we’re using a standard lineup. Let’s jump right in.

QB: Drew Brees finishes as the QB1 overall

I haven’t invested early at the QB position in a while, but I find myself landing Brees in some of my early drafts. There are tons of articles making the case for Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson to finish as the QB1 overall, but when it comes to Brees, the words “value” and “floor” always seem to come into play.
