Fantasy Football 2025: Fantasy-friendly offenses report for Week 1

Estimated Reading Time: 7 minutes

The report below identifies fantasy-friendly and unfriendly NFL offenses while breaking down possible outcomes from each week’s offensive matchups. Highlighted statistical variables include neutral game pass and run play rates, success rate, expected points added (EPA) per play, shifts, motion and play-action pass play usage, as well as offensive play volume and pace.

Each week’s fantasy-friendly and unfriendly defensive matchups are detailed in a weekly partner piece, titled “Fantasy Football 2025: Fantasy-friendly defenses report.” NFL offenses and defense will occasionally be detailed in one or both partner pieces. Standout wide receiver matchups may be more closely examined in the weekly “3 WR/CB matchups to target and avoid” series.

Neutral game run play rate and neutral game pass play rate

Offensive neutral game run play rate and neutral game pass play rate among NFL teams in 2024:

New Houston Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley served as the Los Angeles Rams’ tight ends coach and passing game coordinator last year. He is expected to feature three-receiver sets as his base offense while increasing Houston’s playcalling creativity and employing a balanced pass-run philosophy. Caley unveils his chosen tactics against his former team, whose ailing quarterback and left tackle are cleared to play. Both teams’ elite skill position players should be in fantasy lineups. Texans rookie running back Woody Marks is a dart-throw candidate to seize No. 1 running back duties in-season. He earned a 65.5 PFF offense grade in the preseason.
